Devra has a great deal of experience providing assessment, treatment, and consultative services to children with a wide range of developmental, physical, emotional, and sensory difficulties.

Devra received an honours degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education with a minor in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University. She continued her education at the University of Toronto, where she received a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy.

Devra began her career as an Occupational Therapist with Grandview Children`s Centre and at C.A.R.D., a therapeutic horseback riding facility in Toronto. Devra has also spent time working as a researcher, and has recently been published in the Physical & Occupational Therapy in Pediatrics journal for her work with Holland Bloorview`s Research Institute. Prior to becoming an Occupational Therapist, Devra worked as a behavioural therapist at an early intervention clinic for children with autism.

Devra has spent the past two years working as an Occupational Therapist and Clinical Supervisor at MukiBuam Treatment Centres, working in the Sensory Program with individuals with dual diagnosis. Beginning in the fall, Devra will be moving to MukiBaum’s York Region School program. Devra also currently works as an Occupational Therapist with Ellen Yack & Associates, and continues to run sessions at a therapeutic riding facility in Schomberg.

Devra is excited to be expanding her partnership with The Village by moving into her new office this fall! See below for a brief explanation of the services she can provide.

Therapeutic Horseback Riding & Hippotherapy Programs

Devra is now offering Hippotherapy   (i.e. using the movement of the horse to facilitate therapy) and Therapeutic Horseback Riding sessions to meet occupational therapy goals!

This fun and motivating approach to therapy can help your child work towards achieving their physical, social, emotional and sensory related goals, while also developing confidence and self-esteem.
